Theme: In one of the most epic conclusions to a life of faith, Elijah is taken up to heaven with chariots. We see Elijah’s faith that lasted through drought, exile, his life being threatened, and two wicked kings, but Elijah’s faith and mission didn’t end with his return to heaven. It was passed on to his disciple Elisha, because a faith that endures is a faith that is passed on and continues after we’re gone.
