Theme: The ESV entitles Psalm 88, “I Cry Out Day and Night Before You” because this psalm is the darkest lament in all the psalms. Ending with haunting line, “my companions have become darkness,” we’ll see how this psalm shows us we can never be fully authentic until we learn to rightly lament.
