We are to confess our (1) faith in Christ, (2) our sinful state, and (3) our need for God’s provisions in our life. As Ligonier Ministries says, confession is that “we remember who we are when we come into God’s presence, we see that we have come short of His holiness and have need of His forgiveness.”
