Scripture: Hebrews 4:9-11
Speaker: Pastor Daryl Crawford
Theme: As our country stops for an extra day of rest on Labor Day each year, this should give Christians a chance to consider what it means to rest from our labors – that is, our labors as in an effort to seek our own justification and salvation. What does it mean to “rest from our labors?” What is the role of Sabbath in the life of a Christian, and what does the writer of Hebrews mean to enter into God’s rest? How can we “strive” to enter rest? In this stand along sermon, we’ll look at how the life of the Christian is one of living for God, but also resting from our labors as we look at the Sabbath fulfilled and what grace means for rest.
