Theme: God told King David that he would make David’s name great, but it would be one of David’s descendants who would see the fulfillment of the Covenant, his throne and his Kingdom. Of all the imperfect descendants of David, we see the ultimate and perfect fulfillment through Jesus Christ and this fulfillment began with the birth of Christ who would be our God, not to dwell in a temple, but to dwell among us as he is “God with us.”
