Faith Formation

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
  - Romans 12:2

A huge part of forming our faith is renewing our minds. The Christian life is not just about head knowledge, but truth has to start in our heads before it can get into our hearts.

While your kids are in their Sunday night programs, join us to hear teaching and discuss at tables about the truth of God’s Word, tough questions of the faith, and how it all applies to everyday life.

Sunday nights at 5:30PM.

*Unfortunately, Faith Formation classes are currently not meeting, but we look forward to gathering again in September 2021.*

2019-2020 Classes

PAST CLASSES

In the midst of mess and chaos, the promises of God often seem missing, or at least distant. But God is radically committed to his promises and his people--even in times of darkness. The book of Esther portrays such a moment, illustrating how God can use messy people, places, and moments to bring about redemption and fulfill his promises. Join us for a four-week study on this incredible book—starting on Sunday, February 9, at 5:30 PM in Room 202—and see how God's faithfulness to work in and through his people can bring purpose out of chaos.

Option 1: How to do devotions with your family

January 12 - 26, 2019

Leading your family in faithfulness is a tough task— ask any parent! One practical way that families build their family life around the cross of Jesus Christ is through regular family devotional time–a time to regroup and center around God’s word. But how do we actually do this? Where do we start? The practical steps to implementing and leading a new habit of family devotions are lost on many of us. Join us for a three-week workshop this January for an in-depth look at how our families can begin to practice this critical discipline.

Option 2: Your Scene / God's Story

January 12 - 26, 2019

Where’s my place? What’s my purpose? Where is all of this going? Our short lives can seem insignificant in the face of a vast universe, just one tiny moment on an ever expanding time line of human history. But the good news is that the Bible gives us a different story–not one of random events, but a purposeful, cohesive story with a beginning, middle, and end. Join us for this three-week class as we open our Bibles to see the grand, overarching narrative that God has written for human history and see how we can respond to his invitation to be apart of that story.
