Praying for the Peace Church body

Peace Church Praying Community, here is a new section, to be praying for the whole church community where we will focus on one key aspect of who God has called us to be as a church. This week we want to remind you that we are:

Kingdom Minded

Are you praying only for what you need or are you seeking what the Lord is doing in your neighborhood, work, and relationships? As a Kingdom minded church, we get to participate in what God is doing as we are both part of His Kingdom and represent His Kingdom here on earth, having experienced the Good News worth sharing. 2 Corinthians 5:20 reads: “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” Take time this week to pray, asking God to help you see where He is working and to know how to join Him in loving people, giving of your time, resources and most importantly, sharing the hope you have in Christ with others.

Update from Hayley's father:
June 9

The best news is - Hayley is off the ventilator and there appears to be no spinal or brain injuries!! Hayley still has a very long road ahead of her, she has many broken bones, arms, legs, pelvis, as well as other internal organs that are going to take a very long time to heal and require numerous surgeries.  She had surgery yesterday, a very lengthy one to repair her broken pelvis. Pray for continued miracolous healing and succesful surguries with stable recovery.

Dave Lomakoski's friend’s daughter, Hayley, was in a serious motorcycle accident yesterday. Hailey is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. Please pray for Hailey and her parents.

Christopher Weaver- Gina passed away June 2nd

Gina Weaver recently passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Be in prayer for Christopher and the family as they navigate this difficult season of grief and adjustment and let us come alongside them as a church family with our prayers and support. You may find their Meal Train Here. Roger's dad passed away earlier this week. The funeral service will be Friday in Alpena, MI.  Please keep Roger, Cathy, and their family in your prayers.

Update May 22

Update from Christopher and Gina’s Weaver. Doctors say she will be in the ICU for weeks to months. CT Scan shows much worsening of the lungs. Prayers for God's presence as she laments lost future plans. Prayers also for her family as they seek to support and care for Gina.

Gina Weaver who is in the ICU on oxygen can't seem to get oxygen levels to stay up without it, and any kind of exertion like sitting up in bed causes her blood ox to plummet into the 80s and even into the 70s. No treatment plan is in place yet for her current symptoms as she continues fighting cancer. Christopher is asking for any all prayer warriors to join them. Gina has expressed she is scared but yesterday she was ready to go home to her Maker. Pray for a stabilization of her O2 levels, for healing in her lungs and God's peace and comfort for the whole family.

Tarah is now receiving palliative care. Pray for lack of pain, for God's presence and comfort during this time as she faces each new day

Update: May 13

Here’s the update from Brian about yesterday's CT scan.  The good news is there are no blockages… the bad news is that it’s the cancer growing inside her that’s causing her liver enzymes to be so high.  Because of this, she can’t start the clinical trial she was supposed to start today, Thursday.  I appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

Update May 12

Gin is continuing to progress and get stronger.

On April 6th Gin was involved in a rollover car accident - Praising the Lord for no life threatening injuries, but she is still in the hospital with 6 fractures to heal from. Gin was moved to Mary Free Bed. Continue to pray for patience and strength! (April 29) Gin is recovering at home. Prayers for complete healing.

Update May 20

Rick is  scheduled for the liver biopsy on next Tuesday, the 26th.  After results are reviewed they will determine the next step of treatment, likely soon after.  Please pray for their wisdom and for the presence of our dear Lord to guide his healing.

My brother Rick, after esophageal cancer treatment now has a mass in his liver suspected to be similar and has a biopsy scheduled next week.  Please pray for Rick as he also suffers from severe depression and anxiety.  Pray for his peace and submission to God's will.

The 8th Grade Adventure Trip is June 14-18th. Please be in prayer for them as this is the first church trip for many of them and it is also a trip that stretches them, in their faith as well as in the adventures they participate in. Join us in 24 hour prayer for the students and leaders on the 8th Grade Adventure Trip.

July 4-12

The High School Mission Trip Team is heading to Alaska. The 24-Hour Prayer event is now open for sign-ups, HERE! We would love to have every hour covered as we pray for our team, the people we'll encounter, and all that God will do through this HS mission trip. This prayer chain will cover a portion of our travel time and arrival in Alaska, making it a meaningful way to support the team while we're on the move.
